At 11:28 in the morning a 5.4 magnitude earthquake occured in the state’s Cook Inlet region, about 88 kilometers from Alaska‘s largest city Anchorage. The Alaska Earthquake Information Center announced that it also located an earthquake that occurred at about 11:55 a.m. in the state’s Andrean of Islands region with a preliminary magnitude of 5.6. The quake was followed by several aftershocks, including one with a preliminary magnitude of 4.0 in the same region. The earthquake did not cause any injuries or major damage, according to officials in the city.
